Definition
เป็นชนิดของสิ่งแนะที่ชี้แสดงความหมายหรือนิยามคำศัพท์ที่ไม่คุ้นเคย ซึ่งผู้อ่านสามารถสังเกตการนิยามความหมายของคำศัพท์ได้โดยการดูที่ตัวชี้แนะหรือคำสัญญาณ clues signal words ที่ปรากฏอยู่ในข้อความนั้นๆ ตัวชี้แนะหรือคำสัญญาณ ได้แก่
